Library hosts Washington Poet Laureate, Tod Marshall – March 6

The John Spellman Library is excited to host our current Washington State Poet Laureate, Tod Marshall, on March 6.

We have scheduled two events with Tod:

  • a poetry workshop in the library’s 1520 classroom from 3:00-4:00 pm, and;
  • a reading upstairs in the library from 6:00-7:30 pm.

Everyone (faculty, staff, students, and family) are welcome at both events. We will serve light refreshments during the evening reading.

Tod Marshall is a poet and professor at Gonzaga University and is serving as the poet laureate from 2016-2018. He is the author most recently of Bugle (2014), which won the Washington State Book Award in 2015.

To get a sense of Tod and his poetry check out these readings of his work courtesy of KUOW: http://kuow.org/post/poet-tod-marshalls-three-dreams-eastside-mountains

You can also read more about him at the Washington State Poet Laureate site: https://wapoetlaureate.org/

We hope you can attend!
