High School Art Show on now!

Stop by the Art Gallery at the John Spellman Library to view some great art work from Grays Harbor area high schools. The show features work from Aberdeen, Elma, Harbor, Hoquiam, Ocosta, and Wishkah Valley.

There is a total of 242 wonderful items to view, and a number of different mediums inlcluding 3D, 2D color and monochrome, mixed media, jewelry, and photography.

The pieces will be judged during the first week of May. The awards ceremony for 1st, 2nd, and honorable mention will be held here in the first floor Library foyer on May 12th from 6pm to 7pm.

The show runs until May 19th, so be sure to stop by before then!

Quilt Show – Last Chance!

Be sure to stop by the Spellman Library Art Gallery for the last week of the Pieceful Discoverers Quilt Guild show. These artistic quilts will be coming down on Saturday, February 20th.

The next gallery show will begin Friday, March 11th. This show will feature art from the GHC Community Education art instructor, Roy Lowry, and his students.

Art reception Friday 1/15

Come join the fun Friday from 6-8pm!

The Pieceful Discoverers Quilt Guild is showing their creations now until February 20th at the library gallery. View the quilts and meet the quilters at the opening reception.

The Guild meets monthly from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second Tuesday at the Cosmopolis Fire Hall. They contribute quilts to many community organizations, including Grays Harbor Foster Child Program and American Hero’s wounded soldiers.

One of their main goals “…is to educate and inspire new quilters, learn from experienced quilters- and have a good time in the process!”

Fall Gala 2015 at the Spellman Art Gallery

Come join us for the Fall Gala Opening Reception on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 6 to 8:30pm.

Twenty local artists will be displaying some of their best work at the Spellman Art Gallery located in the Library building at Grays Harbor College.

Pieces will include oil and watercolor paintings, segmented wood pieces, ceramics, and photography.

The exhibit will continue through December 10, 2015.

We hope to see you there!

High School Art Show on now

The Annual High School Art Show is now on display in the gallery.

There will be a reception Thursday May 15th from 6pm to 7pm to honor all participants and congratulate award winners.

This Show runs through June 4th and can be viewed during regular library hours.

This year we have 8 schools and 11 instructors participating. There are 274 pieces displayed in six different categories!

Student Photography Show

Photography students of instructor Richard Cherry are displaying their work in the John Spellman Library Gallery.

The reception will be held Thursday, July 12th  from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the gallery.

The exhibit continues through August 29, 2012.
